Register entry 055 - Robert Miller Christy
Robert Miller Christy (1861-1928) first visited the Bell Farm on July 10, 1884 en route from Winnipeg to Medicine Hat. He visisted again on his return, by which time (August 20) the Bell Farm Visitors Register had been started, and Christy had an opportunity to sign his name on that date.
Miller Christy (he dropped his first name in the late 1880s) was born near Chelmsford, Essex, England. He was a naturalist and author who made several trips to Manitoba and wrote in extensive details about the Bell Farm in one of his accounts of prairie life. (pg 86-90 Bell Farm - "Manitoba Described: Being a series of general observations upon the farming, climate, sport, natural history and future prospects of the country".)
