Register entry 076 - Goldwin Smith


Visited the Bell Farm in August 1884. - Goldwin Smith was a prolific British-Canadian political commentator and writer. He served as editor of the Canadian Monthly. Goldwin Smith Hall, at Cornell University, is named for him.

According to the Winnipeg Daily Sun, 27 Aug. 1884, "Professor Goldwin Smith dined at Government House last night, and left for the Bell Farm this morning."
